After dining, don’t forget to visit the Observation Deck on the 84th floor to gaze at Bangkok’s panoramic view from 360 degrees.

But if you have limited time and still want to visit many markets (basically just to have a glimpse of all the markets), then you can rent a traditional tuk-tuk to tour around Bangkok.

This name is very familiar to Thai tourists because this place is a hub for various forms of entertainment. Shop to your heart’s content and enjoy plenty of dining options. If you’ve already visited the bustling markets during the day, reserve an evening to explore Khao San Night Market for souvenir shopping, clothes, shoes, jewelry… at reasonable prices. Khao San is where you can find everything characteristic of Thai culture.

If you’re bored with shopping, hit the various bars in the area for an unforgettable overseas experience. Khao San has budget-friendly bars popular with tourists like Hippie de Bar and Brick Bar.

Opening hours: Open 24/7, but it starts quieting down after 11 p.m. Location: Located on Khao San Road. You can take a taxi or tuk-tuk to easily witness the bustling nightlife. All drivers know the way to Khao San.

Remember to try the coconut ice cream here; it’s delicious and won’t make you feel hot, just a little creamy, but that’s it. White coconut ice cream, creamy, with shredded coconut on top and a sprinkle of peanuts – when you buy ice cream here, you’ll also get a free fresh coconut water. Absolutely delicious!

You’ll witness them sewing, packing products into boxes, and loading them onto bustling trucks in the narrow spaces, creating a seemingly busy and hurried environment. This contrasts sharply with large shopping centers that are air-conditioned and luxurious. Those who don’t resonate with this might find the market a bit noisy and dirty, but those who appreciate the market lifestyle might genuinely enjoy Pratunam.

You can bargain here, but the prices are already quite low compared to other market areas, so the bargaining margin might be limited.

Opening hours: 24/7 Location: Situated at the intersection of Ratchaprop and Petchburi roads. Due to its location on a major street, you can choose any mode of transportation to reach here: taxi, Grab, tuk-tuk, motorbike taxi, or even walk if you’re nearby.

2.4. Rot Fai Night Market

Rot Fai came into existence long ago. Before Chatuchak emerged, Rot Fai was the most talked-about name among tourists and locals alike. This night market is legendary for its mind-boggling shopping experience; once you wander in, it’s hard to leave!

Some call this market “Train Market” because before the BTS sky train system was built, this area used to be an old train station. Hence, Rot Fai Night Market is an ideal destination for vintage enthusiasts and collectors of antique items.

My first impression of Rot Fai Market is that it’s extremely spacious and colorful, like a box of colored pencils—green, red, purple, and gold. Moreover, each stall is decorated with bright-colored lights, making the entire area sparkle from a distance. You can’t help but exclaim in awe at this sight.

Similar to other markets in Bangkok, you’ll find everything here, from fashion items, food, handicrafts, home appliances to spare parts. However, if you’re here at Rot Fai, I recommend you to specifically seek out and check in with antique items. For instance, an original 1950s Cadillac, superhero costumes from the 1960s, and numerous priceless collectibles. Because of the vintage style, the arrangement of stalls here possesses a unique charm that you won’t find elsewhere. The distinctive atmosphere and the laughter-filled ambiance of Rot Fai attract frequent visits from professional photographers. Feel free to pose for pictures in every nook and corner; rest assured, every spot is picturesque.

Note 1: Because the market is extensive, if you find something you like, buy it immediately; otherwise, it will take a long time to return. If bargaining, it’s usually around 10 to 20 baht. Buying in bulk often gets discounts.
